Music videos:

Jason Mraz - I wont give up

This is a similar style of music to the genre of that which we are making our music video on. This shows a nice comparison to what are video should be like, and also gives us some inspiration for the types of things that we might include in our own video.

Dappy - Beautiful me

This song is of a very different, if not completely opposite style of music to ours. This shows contrast to what we may include in our video and also gives us an idea on what to be careful about including in our video, because we want it to fit a certain genre, so if we included certain things which feature in this video, we may give the wrong idea about the style we aimed for and therefore it may not work.

Construction:

Digipak:

This is the image that I have decided to use for the design of the digipak cover:

I chose to use this image because this is the title image on the video of his song, where we found it on YouTube. The song is called Two Glasses, so I decided that having the image with the glass and the napkin on the front would fit well, and suit the genre of music that it is.

Next, I decided that for the back of the cover, I wanted to use a symbolic picture of some sort. I chose to use a black and white image of the Hollywood Walk of Fame to symbolize success and the recognition of fame, which would be any singer's aspirations. I wanted this image to be black and white so that it would contrast with the front image. Also, the black and white effect will work well to leave a blank area for the writing that would go on the back.

When I added the image to the digipak design, I used Photoshop to smudge the writing so that the original name was not visible, as this would have ruined the effect.

Next, I added the small details that allow the digipak to look real. These include some song names as well as barcode and social network logos. I chose to use images of small rips of tape to make it have a cheaper, less professional look to it which makes it look more authentic and represents the genre. Also, I decided to create two extra song names to add to the list just so that the back did not look empty and plain. I chose to just use two random song names that I made up for this, they are not real song names.

This is the final Digipak design for the single.

Website:

I decided to create a website design for the release of the single. This website shows some themes and aspects of the digipak design and also follows the style of genre. It also uses the same image as is on the cover, this is to show continuity and show that it follows a theme.

This is the website design for Anthony Rankin, who is our chosen artist. In our video we will be using his soundtrack and having our protagonist lip syncing because he is an unsigned artist and therefore it will not breach any copyright laws.
I created this using a website creator so that it looked real and professional. I added to small sections to show upcoming events and important announcements. I added a section to show music, this would allow fans to be able see upcoming music that they can listen to and share with friends to spread news about the artist.
